Review: Rimmel London ScandalEyes by Kate Mascara*

18:53:00

Let me just start this by saying 'I love Mascara!' but given that I only have like 3 or 4 in my collection at the moment! I'm not a fan of buying because you just have to have it! I like to use up things before I purchase another (most of the time)!

So when I got sent the new Rimmel London mascara ScandalEyes by Kate, I was quite excited to try it out!

Rimmel London says:

  • Our blackest mascara ever, designed by kate Moss herself
  • The broken heart-shaped brush twists and curves to hug the lash- line: the thin tip grabs hard-to-reach inner lashes, while the amplified base pulses lashes with dramatic volume and curve.
  • Lashes are plumped and lifted in one clean stroke. No clumps!
  • Presented in a beautiful, luxe-looking silver metallised bottle emblazoned with kate’s signature and heart motif in red.
  • Rimmel London ScandalEyes by Kate retails for $16.95

Loads of Lifestyle says:

I really like this mascara, well most of it.
  • The packaging is simple and sleek.
  • I really love the broken heart-shaped wand, it curves around the lash line perfectly, it finer end really gets into the inner corners and grabs the smaller lashes.
  • I like the formula however I wouldn't say it has the dramatic volume and curve that Rimmel suggest. It has volume and curve yes, but not 'dramatic' I am going to use it as a nice everyday mascara. I gives enough volume to look done up, but not over the top.
  • Also their blackest mascara ever? Can you get blacker than black? It's just plain black to me.

The only thing I dislike about this mascara, is when you go to remove it.. Holy panda eyes! I end up with half my face smudged black! Then when you think you have it all and jump in the shower, you get out and BAM tears of black down your face! Then sometimes I will even wake up with some small smudges under my eye. I don't know if its my poor removal techniques or the actual formula!

What's your favourite mascara at the moment? I would love to know!

  1. I actually wasn't much a fan of this mascara, I found the formula to be extremely wet and it just weighed down my lashes! I found it smudged quite a bit, and TOTALLY agree about the removal process! Like, I didn't know I put /that/ much product on??

  2. I haven't noticed the smudgyness due to wearing glasses most of the day, but yes taking it off is the worst!! I was lovely to meet you on the weekend! x
